Gerald King – Lewis Carroll 150th Birth Anniversary – Cover (Front) – Signed by Sir Peter Blake
Sir Peter Blake is one of the leading figures in the art world, often referred to as the Godfather of British Pop Art. Best known for the iconic album cover he produced for the Beatles ‘Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band’, Blake’s work is inspired by his love affair with icons and the ephemera of popular culture.
Sir Peter Blake, R.A., born at Dartford, Kent , in 1932, has been recognized as one of the foremost British artists since the “Pop Art” movement burst upon us in the late fifties.
As will be noted by the style of this special event cover, Sir Peter Blake´s forte is not exclusively ´Pop´. A master of many meida, this is an example of his superb water colour technique.
