| 1862 | On the 4th of July Charles tells the story of ‘Alice’ during a boat trip to Godstow with the 3 Liddell sisters. Alice ask Charles to write the story down to her.
On November 13 Charles begins to write down ‘Alice’s Adventures Underground’ for Alice Liddell. |
| 1863 | Manuscript for ‘Alice’s Adventures Underground’ is finished. |
| 1864 | November 28. Charles give Alice Liddell a handwritten manuscript of ‘Alice’s Adventures Underground’, with illustrations by Charles himself.
Expands original manuscript and retitles it ‘Alices Adventures In Wonderland’. |
| 1865 | On May 4 the first specimen volume of ‘Alices Adventures In Wonderland’ is sent to Charles from MacMillan (publishers) in time for Alice’s birthday (on May 4).
November 26. ‘Alices Adventures In Wonderland’ is published. |
